Escapism Foundry was set up in 2005 by a group of avid gamers from Essex, England. Inspired by a desire to create exciting and unusual twists on standard adventures the group decided to turn their hands to scenario writing. Their first adventures The Fences Folly and The Battle of Borost Bridge premiered at Dragonmeet 2005 and received interest from visitors and traders alike. Now the Foundry seeks to continue its crusade to bring new and exiting adventure to your gaming table.
Escapism Foundry consists of:
Dan handles all the technical and mechanical aspects of the Foundry. He provides many of the original concepts and ideas for the games as well as the implementation of many of the ideas. He also runs Out of the Armoury, our Live Action equipment and wargames terrain department, where he crafts many impressive tools, weapons, and geographical features. Dan is a Mechanical Engineering student but ultimately seeks to rule the world with tyrannical glee.
Alex is in charge of all the writing of the company. He takes the ideas provided by the other members of the team and turns them into prose. He is also in charge of editing external submissions to ensure they are of a high standard. Alex is currently persuing a Masters in Creative and Critical Writing. His greatest fear is that this will leave him over qualified for a job at MacDonald’s.
Gavin deals with all the illustration and art needs of the Foundry. He takes the completed adventures and provides illustrations and, with the assistance of Minion One, formats the layouts to make them into the beautifully crafted products we are known for. He maintains this website and makes it the wondrous thing that it is. Gavin is a freelance illustrator and was once bitten by a radioactive hippie.
Minion one assists with the layouts and formatting of the books. He is a small goblin with an ability to make complex programs work where lesser beings have failed. He is also in charge of feeding the Pixies that work in the Foundry. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Minion One for all his hard work and dedication. Minion One also occasionaly answers to the name Philip Tosh.
